The Musical

Prophecy is a full-length stage musical based on the legend of the Brahan Seer and the ill-fated House of Seaforth. The action takes place mainly in Scotland; on the Isle of Lewis, the Brahan Estates near Strathpeffer, and on the Black Isle. A brief interlude in Paris also features. The story is set in the third quarter of the 17th century, with a short excursion to 1815 and back.

Prophecy is based on the short, but eventful, life of Kenneth Mackenzie (Coinneach Odhar Fiosaiche), gifted with the 'sight' and looked upon as the Gaelic Nostradamus by many observers. There is no single authoritative account of his deeds, but the tale has been handed down in the Gaelic oral tradition over the generations.

The premiere of Prophecy took place 9-13th September, 2014 at St Bride's Centre, 10 Orwell Terrace, Edinburgh, EH11 2DZ. The show was produced by MST Productions. Tickets were distributed from the Usher Hall booking office online, by post, in person and by telephone.
